NYSLOF was proud to participate in the 2014 Scholarship Gala for the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) - Long Island Chapter of Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Mirroring the mission of NYSLOF - LCLAA advocates for the rights of all workers seeking justice in the workplace and in their communities.

Among the numerous speakers for the evening were Executive Director, Long Island Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO Roger Clayman; Recorder & Organizing Coordinator, RWDSU Joesph Dorismond; Executive Dricetor, Long Island Jobs for Justice Anita Halasz; Director of Education and Training, CSEA, Region ONe Director, CBTU Sharon Lovelady-Hall; and keynote speaker Village of Hempstead Trustee and Vicechairman, Hempstead Hispanic Civil Association Luis Figueroa.
