The second annual New York State Portugal Day Parade in Mineola celebrated the rich history and tradition of the Portuguese-American community on Long Island. Mineola, home to one of Long Island’s largest and most active Portuguese populations, celebrated its largest turnout yet, with dozens of floats, vintage cars and nearly 12-thousand supporters. Laborers' Local 1010 and NYSLOF were proud participants in the parade, displaying messages of union pride and culture support on the Laborers' mobile billboard vehicle.
